Bill Jemas

As Chief Operating Officer and President of Publishing, Licensing and New Media, Bill Jemas was a senior member of the management team that transformed Marvel Entertainment from a near-bankrupt comic book publisher and toy company into a multi-billion dollar media and merchandising business. The first “suit” since Stan Lee to play and active role in creative development Bill wrote the plots for Ultimate Spider-Man and the Origin of Wolverine, two of the bestselling graphic novels in history. From 2000 to 2004, he led the creative and business teams that modernized and unified the company and managed the best business turnaround story of the decade.

Prior to joining Marvel, Bill served as EVP of Sports and Entertainment for Madison Square Garden, President of Fleer Corp (the Sports and Entertainment Trading Card Company) and VP Business Affairs for the National Basketball Association. He began his career as a Tax and Corporate Associate for the New York Law Firm of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett after graduating Rutgers College and Harvard Law School.

Post Marvel, Bill:
-Founded 360ep, a full-service merchandise licensing agency, representing: Showtime Networks, WeTV, AOL, Lionel Trains, the Harlem Globetrotters, the Guggenheim Museum, Smokey Bear, Bauer Publishing, America Media, and Hanes Brands.

– Joined the Board of Alloy, Inc. Alloy is a leading creator of youth-oriented content, including Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Gossip Girl and dozens of best-selling books; Alloy owns Channel One and runs an extensive digital media network.

Currently Bill, is the General Manager of Double Take, the graphic fiction publishing arm of Take Two Games.
